Picovo Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 30, 2026
Picovo (com.picovo.gallery) is an offline-first Android gallery application. This policy explains what information Picovo accesses, what leaves the device, and the choices available to users.
Photos, videos, and camera
Picovo requests access to photos and videos because browsing, organizing, searching, editing, playing, deleting, restoring, and privately storing the device media library are the app's core functions. Media processing, thumbnails, search, albums, Trash, and Private Vault operate locally on the device. Picovo supports Android's limited-media access where available.
Camera permission is used only when the user chooses to capture media. Picovo does not automatically upload, synchronize, or back up photos, videos, media metadata, search queries, or Vault content to Picovo servers.
When a user deliberately shares media, Android passes the selected files to the app chosen by the user. That receiving app handles the data under its own privacy policy.
Crash and stability diagnostics
Picovo uses Firebase Crashlytics, a service provided by Google, to identify crashes and application-not-responding errors and improve reliability. Crashlytics automatically receives technical information such as stack traces, relevant application state, app version and package information, device manufacturer and model, operating-system information, network connection type, session information, and per-installation identifiers such as the Firebase installation ID and Crashlytics installation UUID.
This diagnostic information is used for app stability, troubleshooting, and crash management. Picovo does not include Firebase Analytics, advertising SDKs, or personalized advertising, and does not attach a user's name, email address, media, search queries, or a developer-defined user ID to Crashlytics reports.
Crashlytics data is transmitted using encryption in transit and is processed by Google as a service provider under the applicable Firebase terms and data-processing terms. More information is available from Firebase Privacy and Security.
Feedback and problem reports
The Feedback and Report a Problem features prepare an email in the user's chosen email app. Nothing is sent until the user reviews the message and chooses to send it. Depending on the user's choices, the email may include:
- the user's email address as supplied by their email provider;
- feedback or problem-description text entered by the user;
- Picovo's package name, the device manufacturer/model, and Android version; and
- screenshots or images deliberately attached by the user.
These emails are used only to respond to support requests, investigate problems, and improve Picovo. They are not sold or used for advertising. The user's email provider also processes the message under its own privacy policy. Users may request deletion of support correspondence by emailing the contact below.
Local storage, retention, and deletion
Picovo stores preferences and app state locally. Private Vault media and credentials are excluded from Android cloud backup and device transfer. Users control their original media through Android and Picovo's media-management features. Clearing Picovo's app storage or uninstalling Picovo deletes its local app data, subject to media the user has chosen to keep in shared device storage.
Crash and diagnostic information is retained according to Firebase Crashlytics' applicable retention practices. Support emails are retained only as reasonably necessary to respond, investigate the reported issue, maintain support records, or meet legal obligations. Users may request deletion of their support correspondence using the contact below.
Users can revoke photo, video, or camera access at any time in Android Settings. Android may also offer access to only selected photos and videos.
Data sharing
Picovo does not sell personal data. Technical crash information is disclosed to Google only for Firebase Crashlytics to provide crash-reporting services. User-selected media or support messages leave Picovo only through an app or email provider deliberately selected by the user.
Children
Picovo is a general-audience utility and is not directed specifically to children. The app does not knowingly request a child's name, age, precise location, contacts, or account information.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when Picovo's features or legal requirements change. The updated date above identifies the latest version. Material changes will be reflected both at this public policy page and in the app.
